Product video prompt guide

Last updated:

A good product video prompt is a short production brief. It tells the model what the product is, what cannot change, and how the shot should move.

Start with reference roles

Name the source images. For example: “Image 1 is the hero front view. Image 2 shows the side label. Image 3 shows the texture.” This gives the model a clear way to use the set.

Separate invariants from creative direction

Invariants are facts: rectangular amber glass bottle, cream label, black cap, no added text. Creative direction is optional: slow push-in, warm rim light, dark stone surface, shallow depth of field.

When one part fails, change one variable at a time. If packaging text is the problem, simplify the scene and add a clearer label reference before changing the entire visual direction.

Useful prompt skeleton

“Use Image 1 as the hero product and Image 2 for the label detail. Preserve the bottle shape, label spelling, colour, and material. Create a [length]-second product video with [camera move], [lighting], and [surface or scene]. End on [final composition]. No people, no hands, no new logos, no text overlays.”

Avoid vague quality words

“Cinematic and premium” sets a mood but does not explain the shot. Pair those words with concrete decisions: a low camera angle, a single hard shadow, a slow orbit, a black glass plinth, or a clean packshot with soft top light.

Make the product the hero.
